It is FALL….yea!!!!

It is also seasonal allergy and upper respiratory infection time…
which can make you feel like hiding!

We have a favorite line of defense that we use for those times – one that has worked for us for years!  Take it from one who used to be in the doctor’s office twice a year (spring/fall) with a raging sinus infection… to not having been to a doctor in three years for sinus issues (or anything else for that matter)…

Short-term “I Need It Now” Support – Provides Acute Respiratory Support

Congaplex provides glandular and nutrient support to boost the immune system by providing antioxidants. It contains Vitamin A which is required for normal functioning of the immune system, vitamin C and provides calcium support for a healthy immune response. It also contains ribonucleic acid, which your body uses to build new cells.

Congaplex is also available in a raspberry-flavored chewable tablet, perfect for children.

COLLOIDAL SILVER   For Short-term Immune Support

Colloidal silver is our ‘go-to’ instead of an antibiotic.  It is in liquid form, has a mild taste and can be taken undiluted or diluted with water or juice.  Most adults will take up to one teaspoon of 250 PPM for immune support not to exceed a duration of 7 to 10 days.  Use half that recommended amount for children ages 6-12 and one-fourth for ages 0-5.  There are many uses for this product.  A 4 oz. bottle  lasts for 6 months to a year around our house.

Did you really think I wouldn’t add coconut oil to this list, my crazy good friends? 😉

With its anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-viral properties it is a no-brainer for colds and URI’s.  We make sure we are getting 3 – 4 tablespoons of Virgin Gold coconut oil daily and increase that amount if we feel ill.  It has been noted by many that it seems to shorten the duration of a cold if you increase your dosage to two tablespoons three times per day.  (Warning!  If you have not been using/eating coconut oil and try this you will be cleaning out your system and spending additional time in the bathroom so you must build up to 3 – 4 tablespoons per day not start it all at once.)  The bottom line here is that if you are getting enough coconut oil in your diet your general health and well-being will improve…ours surely has!  The kind we use is the best on the market in our opinion (and we have tried many) and will last quite a while.  I do not cook with the Virgin Gold oil-I use it for illnesses, ailments, abrasions, etc.

And there you have it…our secrets for staying healthy and functional during the allergy/cold season.  Life is too short to spend it suffering from ailments when you can be living a healthy life naturallyso email me for more information on where you can get these ‘CRAZY GOOD’ products!!!  As always…here is to the best of health for you and yours!!!

Blessings, Love & Light~

Are You Suffering From Allergies?

Are You Suffering From Allergies?

It is that time of year, my friends…allergy season….that is!  If you are feeling run down, energy-less and just not “up-to-snuff”…you could be experiencing symptoms brought on by allergies.

I just read an article from Organic Gardening News (4/2/2012 edition) with some helpful info regarding some of the natural allergy remedies available to us from the produce section:

  • Broccoli
  • Citrus fruits
  • Kale
  • Collard Greens
  • Stinging Nettle
  • Butterbur (I had never heard of this one)
  • Elderberries
  • Onions & Garlic

For specific information on these natural remedies, visit their site:,1

I MUST add, though not in the produce section, LOCAL honey has worked wonderfully for us as far as allergies are concerned!  We certainly don’t mind having a piece of toast with coconut oil and local honey every morning either!  🙂

“The idea behind eating honey is kind of like gradually vaccinating the body against allergens, a process called immunotherapy. Honey contains a variety of the same pollen spores that give allergy sufferers so much trouble when flowers and grasses are in bloom. Introducing these spores into the body in small amounts by eating honey should make the body accustomed to their presence and decrease the chance an immune system response like the release of histamine will occur [source: AAFP]. Since the concentration of pollen spores found in honey is low — compared to, say, sniffing a flower directly — then the production of antibodies shouldn’t trigger symptoms similar to an allergic reaction. Ideally, the honey-eater won’t have any reaction at all.”    (

And….that must be why it has worked for us.  We are gradually building an immunity against the allergens in our area.  Isn’t that just amazing???

Who needs those chemicals produced in a lab???  Not I~
