Home Remedies

I am an educator by trade, having taught in public school systems for 15 years. I chose to change professions and worked as a manager of an urgent care facility for 8 years. It was at that time that I became frustrated with medical practices and started looking for other, more natural, ways to address my family’s healthcare needs. In the past two years, I have researched healing options, such as herbal extracts, dietary supplements and homeopathic solutions, for our infirmities and have been extremely pleased with the results in most cases. Ultimately I hope to have these items available for you to purchase directly from this site so that you, too, can try them instead of the chemicals that are often times prescribed.

We all know being proactive is advantageous in most situations and preventing or fighting a cold is no different.  Here are some crazy good foods that will aid you in this battle as noted from Health:

  • Oily fish – salmon, tuna & mackerel, for example, are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which fight inflammation throughout the body

These would be my additions:

  • I would also recommend steering clear of processed foods.  They just aren’t good for you ANY TIME!
  • Drink lots and lots of water!
  • Use a saline spray to keep your nasal passages clear.
  • Eat local honey EVERY day – put it on toast or in your beverage~
  • REST!

As always, here is to your best health…naturally~

Leg Cramps? Try Mustard!

Leg Cramps? Try Mustard!

Are you plagued with leg cramps?  If so, the next time your legs start cramping take 1 – 2 teaspoons of  yellow mustard for relief!!!

My husband, who loves to mountain bike, carries packets of mustard with him when  he is riding for this very reason.  It works for him and has worked for several of his riding buddies – all within a matter of minutes.

Now that is crazy good…

Some say it is the vinegar in the mustard that does the trick while others say it is the turmeric.  I say…who cares as long as it works???  Give it a try and let me know if it works for you!
